Attorney General Buddy Caldwell was a featured speaker at the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana Steak and Burger dinner on Thursday, October 8, 2009 in Lafayette. Attorney General Caldwell told the students how important it is to pursue your dreams and make good choices. “99% of your problems can be solved with something you can buy at the store,” said a smiling Caldwell. “It’s a mirror. If you can control what you see in the mirror every morning, you’ll be successful.”
The Steak and Burger Dinner is a fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana. The Boys and Girls Club strives to build productive, caring, responsible citizens. The clubs in each community throughout Acadiana provide a safe place for children to learn and grow, establish relationships with caring adult professionals, experience life-enhancing programs and character development. With he and his wife Pat having seven children between them, Attorney General Caldwell firmly believes in encouraging young people to stay involved in positive activities like sports, music, and continued education. He commends the Boys and Girls Clubs of Acadiana and its staff for their efforts.
Entertainment at Thursday’s event included “Cher” Impersonator Lisa Irion, “Tina Turner” Impersonator Connie Garrett and Alexis Simon, “2009 Youth of the Year”.
