BATON ROUGE, LA - Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry issued the following statement on today's death of United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia:

"It is with great sadness that I express my condolences to the family of Justice Scalia. Justice Scalia was the head of a Constitutional revival in America and a scholarly mentor to many. Justice Scalia carried the intellectual banner for original intent and strict constructionism. Justice Scalia's passion, knowledge, and respect for the Constitution was second to none. Justice Scalia was an honorable and ethical jurist whose legacy will live forever. Sharon and I will keep Mrs. Maureen, the Scalia children, and their grandchildren in our prayers."
