Attorney General Jeff Landry Arrests Registered Sex Offender in Slidell

BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff Landry today announced the arrest of a registered sex offender on several charges of attempted misconduct with a juvenile.

Gary Mead – 42 of Shalimar, Florida – was arrested for Indecent Behavior with Juvenile, Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor, Attempted Carnal Knowledge with a Juvenile, and Unlawful Use of Social Media.

“Our office will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of making our communities safer,” said General Landry. “We will do all that we legally can to bring child predators to justice.”

Mead was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail as a result of a joint investigation by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, the Mandeville Police Department, the Covington Police Department, and the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
