PONCHATOULA, LA – Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry today joined law enforcement partners in Tangipahoa Parish to announce arrests made in connection to the murder of Christopher Franklin.

Through partnership with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, the Ponchatoula Police Department, the Hammond Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations - General Landry's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested Tony Johnson, Dkerian Thompson, and two juveniles on charges related to the August 2016 murder of Franklin in Ponchatoula.

"Our office is fortunate to have many experienced law enforcement agents skilled in investigating violent crimes," said General Landry. "I appreciate all of our partner agencies who helped crack this case, and I am grateful for their dedication to public safety."

"We are thankful for the support, leadership, and resources that General Landry has made available through his task force," said Ponchatoula Chief Bry Layrisson. "The apprehensions during this investigation are an example of the positive impact made when law enforcement from across Louisiana work together to solve violent crimes."

"Anytime we can assist other agencies, we are happy to do it," said Hammond Police Chief James Stewart. "In collaboration with state and local law enforcement agencies, we were able to help the victim's family begin their closure process."

One of the suspects was already incarcerated in Livingston Parish Detention Center when he was booked on this crime. The other three suspects were booked into Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. All four were booked as fugitives and are in the process of being transported and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Prison.
