BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff Landry issued the following
statement after his office obtained a unanimous jury conviction of Larry
Thompson on charges of second degree murder and obstruction of justice in the
2014 Christmas night killing of David Scott in Hahnville:
“Today’s verdict is the culmination of years of great
investigative work by Sheriff Greg Champagne’s Office and the prosecutorial
efforts by my Assistant Attorneys General Matthew Derbes and Molly Lancaster.
Together, we have brought Mr. Thompson to justice and hopefully delivered some
closure to the Scott family.”

Thompson, facing life in prison, is expected to be
sentenced on September 20th.
