BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff
Landry today announced that his office has arrested a registered sex offender on
225 counts of child pornography.
“Our Cyber Crimes
Unit works tirelessly to investigate and arrest criminals engaging in child
exploitation,” said General Landry. “We will not cease in our efforts to
apprehend those producing, possessing, or distributing pictures and videos of
children being violated."
Nicholas Garcia, 32
of Houma, was
arrested on 225 counts of Possession of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of Children
(under the age of 13). He was arrested and booked into the Terrebonne
Parish Jail following a joint investigation between the Louisiana Bureau of
Investigation (LBI) Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, and the
Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office. Garcia is a registered sex offender
following a 2009 conviction of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.?
