BATON ROUGE, LA – The Louisiana
Department of Justice’s Deputy Director of Litigation Deidre Robert has been
chosen to serve as General Counsel for Southern University.
“I congratulate Deidre Robert on her selection as General
Counsel for Southern University,” said General Landry. “The LADOJ’s loss is
Southern’s gain as I am confident Deidre will remain a hard-working public
servant.”
"We are proud of Attorney Robert's success in the
legal field and her positive representation of her alma mater," said Ray
L. Belton, Southern University System President-Chancellor. "We look
forward to working with her in this important role with the SU System."
“From her service as Deputy Director of Litigation to
her tenure as Special Litigation Counsel to her leadership as Deputy Director
of Public Protection, Deidre has dedicated much of her legal career to
advancing the LADOJ,” added General Landry. “Her experience here, at the City
of Baton Rouge – East Baton Rouge Parish Attorney’s Office, and in private
practice have well-prepared Deidre for the next chapter.”
“My office and I are thankful for Deidre’s efforts, and
we look forward to her representing Southern with distinction,” concluded
General Landry. “As a former Southern student, I wish Deidre success in helping
to make the University an even better place for the students and our
