BATON ROUGE, LA – A New Orleans man has been
arrested for contacting minor girls in an alleged sex
trafficking scheme.
Abraham Kalili, 40 of New Orleans, was arrested on one count of Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes. His arrest came following a request from the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) to the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) to investigate a man communicating with juvenile victims online in an attempt to lure them into child sex trafficking.
"Human trafficking is a hideous crime whose impacts on those exploited last forever,” said General Landry. "So my office will continue to assist law enforcement agencies in the pursuit of child predators violating the innocence of our State's children."
"The ATC is dedicated to the fight against stopping the crime of human trafficking," said ATC Commissioner Juana Marine-Lombard. "We are proud to work with our state partners in the AG's office and their agents who committed themselves to this case which resulted in getting a harmful trafficker off of the streets."
The LBI Cyber Crime Unit arrested Kalili, who was on parole for narcotics distribution, with the assistance of the LBI Violent Crimes Unit, LBI Fugitive Apprehension Unit, ATC, Homeland Security Investigations, Louisiana Probation and Parole, the Louisiana State Police, and the New Orleans Police Department. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison.
