BATON ROUGE, LA - Recently, a Louisiana Court of Appeal sided with Attorney General Jeff Landry and revived the case against the
Mark Zuckerberg-funded Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) for its attempt to
inject private money into our election system. The case was remanded back to
the trial court.
Yesterday, the Louisiana Supreme Court denied the CTCL's
request to overturn the Appellate Court's decision, affirming the case will go
forward in the trial court. In response to the decision, Attorney General
Landry issued the following statement:
“I have said from the beginning, our democracy is not
for sale; private money should not fund our elections. Mark Zuckerberg's
attempt to supersede the people's elected representatives will not go
unchecked. We will continue to stand up and defend Louisiana from entities
trying to rig our election system.”
