Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit arrests two New Orleans men for pornography involving juveniles

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit made two arrests in New Orleans recently.

22-year-old Jerred Franklin of Oak Creek Road in New Orleans, was arrested on July 17, for violating:

  • LA R.S. 14:81.1 Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen; two (2) counts

76-year-old Richard Howard II of Nashville Avenue in New Orleans, was arrested on July 17, for violating:

  • LA R.S. 14:81.1 Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen; eight (8) counts

These were separate investigations.

Agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Both arrests were a result of a joint investigation with General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the New Orleans Police Department. 

Franklin and Howard were booked into the Orleans Justice Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
